Shankaracharya Math, also known as Jyotirmath or Jyotir Peeth, is a principal monastic institution located in Joshimath, Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the four cardinal monasteries established by the 8th-century philosopher-saint Adi Shankaracharya to preserve and propagate Advaita Vedanta. The math holds immense spiritual significance and serves as a major center of Hindu learning in northern India.
